This year, we celebrate a remarkable milestone—25 years of Fusion Interior Design in Surrey!
For a quarter of a century, we have poured our creativity, passion, and expertise into transforming homes across Surrey and South East England. Together, as a Wife & Husband team, we have reimagined countless interiors, blending style and functionality to create spaces our clients truly love.
Reaching 25 years feels both humbling and exhilarating. It gives us a chance not only to reflect on how Fusion began but also to share our vision for the future of interior design in Surrey and beyond. Our journey has been filled with challenges, triumphs, collaborations, and unforgettable projects—and it continues to inspire us every day.
Early Days
Before we officially launched Fusion Interior Design, our story began with a shared love of interiors and a determination to bring creativity into everyday living spaces.

How It All Began
Fusion Interior Design started in late 1999 with a decision to - ‘Go it alone!”
We did our research, went to business night school and took the bold step into the world of showhouses. Our first projects were for some of the UK’s leading property developers, where we were tasked with turning empty buildings into aspirational homes.
Those early days shaped us in powerful ways. We learned how to design interiors that looked stunning yet felt lived-in, discovering the importance of flow, light, and proportion, and how every detail—from furniture placement to finishes—could transform a space. Most importantly, we built a foundation of discipline and creativity that still guides our work today.
Working on showhouses gave us a deep understanding of how to combine aesthetic appeal with practicality. That balance between style and liveability remains central to our Surrey interior design projects today.
Over a five year period we installed over 70 show homes in numerous ares including Brighton, Dorset, Essex and Hampton Court. Below is a few images of installations during that time.
Bringing Design Home
After those first exciting years, we felt drawn to something more personal: working directly with homeowners. Making the leap into residential interior design in Surrey allowed us to collaborate closely with families, couples, and individuals who wanted to transform their homes into something uniquely theirs.
This shift changed everything. Suddenly, we weren’t just creating showpieces—we were shaping the everyday environments of real people.
Every client brought a new challenge: a kitchen that needed to feel like the heart of a home, a living room that had to welcome three generations, a bedroom that needed to serve as both sanctuary and retreat. Each project required us to listen deeply, to combine Jan’s creative flair with Jason’s meticulous detail, and to deliver designs that felt both exciting and timeless.
The Projects That Shaped Us
Over the years, we’ve had the joy of working on an extraordinary variety of properties. Quaint Surrey cottages, modern family homes, and sleek new builds have all passed through our sketchbooks and mood boards.
We’ve redesigned kitchens to make cooking and gathering effortless. We’ve transformed dated extensions into bright, open-plan living spaces. We’ve helped homeowners embrace bold colour or achieve calm, neutral elegance. Each project has taught us something new about the art of home renovation in Surrey and deepened our love for design.
We’ve also embraced challenges—from integrating eco-friendly materials to introducing smart home technology. Each has strengthened our expertise and inspired us to innovate.
One of the greatest rewards is hearing from clients long after a project is complete. Knowing that families are still enjoying their redesigned spaces years later—that milestones, dinners, and quiet evenings unfold in the rooms we created together—is an incredible privilege.
