After 25 years in the UK residential interior design industry, I’ve attended countless exhibitions, but Focus/25 at Design Centre Chelsea Harbour (DCCH) remains a standout event. Recently experiencing this year’s showcase, I was captivated by the energy, creativity, and innovative spirit that flowed throughout the venue.

About Focus/25 and DCCH

Focus/25: The Longer View ran from 15–19 September, with extended access through mid-October. Held at Design Centre Chelsea Harbour, London’s premier interior design destination, the event brought together more than 135 showrooms representing international brands and boutique makers.

Renowned names such as Pierre Frey, Elitis, Ralph Lauren Home, and Ercol were joined by artisanal designers and emerging talent. The result was a dynamic and inspiring mix of luxury fabrics, wallcoverings, furniture, lighting, and bespoke interior products.

Interior Design Highlights from Focus/25

House Guests & Pop-ups

The Design Avenue featured over 35 pop-up exhibitors, adding vibrancy and freshness to the show. Standouts included Amy Kent Rugs, Rapture & Wright, Warwick, Ercol, and Tom Raffield. Each presented handcrafted collections that blended artistry with modern design.

Materials, Textures & Colour

This year’s exhibition featured an exciting range of jewel tones, earthy shades, retro-inspired patterns, metallic finishes, and richly textured surfaces. The emphasis on tactility, craftsmanship, and wellbeing reflected a wider shift in luxury interior design.

Specialist Craftsmanship

Minoli’s display of oversized stone and marble-effect slabs, sustainable finishes, and small-format brick looks was a highlight. Elsewhere, bespoke furniture makers, artisan lighting specialists, and wallcovering experts showcased the skill and detail that defines high-end interiors.

Events & Talks

The programme included design talks, artisan demonstrations, and masterclasses, offering deeper insight into current interior design trends, materials, and innovations. These events reinforced DCCH’s reputation as a hub for creativity and professional expertise.

The Venue & Atmosphere

DCCH’s location at Chelsea Harbour provides both prestige and accessibility. The showrooms are thoughtfully arranged, offering immersive settings that help contextualise each brand’s vision.

The Design Avenue’s pop-ups brought added energy, complementing the permanent displays.

Facilities also deserve mention: cafés, restaurants, and the exclusive Design Club created comfortable spaces to pause, reflect, and connect. The layout and flow of the venue made it easy to take in the richness of the exhibition at a relaxed pace.

Final Thoughts

Focus/25 at Design Centre Chelsea Harbour delivered a compelling snapshot of contemporary interior design. The mix of established luxury brands, innovative newcomers, and artisanal craftsmanship ensured that inspiration was around every corner.

With its trend-forward palettes, attention to materiality, and celebration of craft, Focus/25 remains one of London’s most important design events.

For professionals and design enthusiasts alike, it is a showcase that continues to shape the conversation around interiors in the UK and beyond.
